Ray,  Please correct my entries for the Windows XP Recovery Disk.  I have a Windows XP Home Edition OS.
Build:  C:\Windows
Custom: Blank or Empty
Output: BartPE
ISo/CD: C:\pebuilder 313\pebuilder.iso
Burn to CD--checked
Device:1.0,0\Sony DVD RW DW-Q28A KYS1 Reversible CD-Rom
Bart PE is in a folder by itself

I don't see a problem.

I tried the information again.  It doesn't work.  Could the program be one that makes a copy of the Windows XP operating system?  I have an original copy of the Windows Home Edition OS which I bought at a local computer store.  What I really need is a program that will after a computer crash let me fix the operating system.

I am not sure that I understand your question.
BartPE will only work if the Windows CD or Windows folder has an i386 folder with the files that come in it.  Not all versions of Windows have this.
BartPE uses those files to put an operating system on the CD which you can run your computer on.  It can be used to fix the operating system if you know how to fix it.  If you are expecting the XP Recovery CD to fix it, it will not.  If you have backups made by WinRescue, it can restore those backups and that my fix the problem but other than that it does not fix anything.
