My system is  windows 7 64bit, I have 5 phantom disc drives on my machine. How they got there is a puzzle. I have never installed  any virtual software . I wish to remove them, can anyone help ??  I was told to right click and then click "eject" but that does nothing.

What are these phantom disc drives called?  If they are called, "Removable Disk", they could be your memory card slots.

Your computer most likely has different size slots on the front somewhere where you can put memory sticks (like, the little cards that are in digital cameras).  When you put a memory stick in one of the slots, the contents of the stick will appear in one of the "phantom disc drives" in Windows Explorer.  There is one "phantom disc drive" for each slot.
