How can I get sound (music) and save it as a different mp3 or vaw file from a pps or ppsx file? Thanks for your help.

I use the standard version of Total Recorder (not free but not expensive) to record music from a PPS file.  You must first start Total Recorder recording and then click the PPS file.  You may have to edit the MP3 file afterward to remove sound from the beginning of the recording.  Audacity does that task --  plus other programs.

Hope this helps.
