When my coputer boots up it sometimes does not get past checking nvram. What causes that problem? I have changed the cmos battery and checked all the memery connections. I have the current version of the bios but I don't no if re-flashing the bios will help. The bios is AMI. The motherboard is ASUS P4C800-E[/face]

Hi Ray
Thanks for getting back to me. When the computer hangs up on checking nvram I tried just using the restart switch but it would keep hanging uo on nvram. I had to shut all the power off the unit using the switch on the power supply. I waited 15 seconds and power it back up and it will boot up. As of lately I have not had a problem but I am nervous that it will happen again. When I started having problems it would happen every second or third boot up. As I state in my previous message I did chance the cmos battery and thought I had the problem solved but it did hang up one time after the the battery change.
