Hey everyone.  I hate to be dumb but I have searched for hours and cannot find a solution to my frustrating problem.  

Any time I attempt to open a document, file, anything (from word, excel, windows explorer) using the Look In box at the top -- where the pull down is, my computer gets locked up.  Usually I get frustrated within 20 minutes and have to shut it down.  The other day I waited and it took almost 45 minutes.  

Can anyone help me fix this problem?  I am not sure what has happened or if something didn't load correctly with an upgrade.  Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
