I have an update HID input device from microsoft windows (I guess) that says to do the update, but then it says it cannot do it because of some type of error.  I have checked around the internet and it says to update your drivers for your microsoft mouse  or keyboard.  I have done all this and it says I have the proper drivers and there are no updates for them.  My screensaver will not work.  Should I remove all the drivers and reistall them or what.  My microsoft ergo keyboard hot keys will not work, especially the zoom key which I use for my online transcription so I can see what i am typing easier.  Any comments or suggestions you can make would be helpful.  I cannot figure this one out.

Did software come with your keyboard?  If so, try reinstalling it.  Also look at the services and make sure HidServ is enabled.

No software didn't come with it, it is plug and play, but I can get the software needed online.  How do a make sure the HID services are enabled?

You can go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services, find Human Interface Device Access, right click and select Properties from the popup menu, change Startup Type to Manual or Automatic.  Then right click on HID again and select Start.  You will probably get a message that the designated file could not be found.  I would guess that any software that comes with the keyboard should have the file in it.

I went to the Microsoft Downloads Center and found the drivers for the Internet Keyboard. The most recent version of Intellitype Pro is 5.2.
