Computer Q&A Board / Questions / A1Click does not start
Posted by: mr.monicker, May 9th, 2009, 10:38pm
Help, please,
Haven't used A1Click for a month or two. Now, whenever I want to start the program,
CPU usage goes to 100%, but program does not start - even after 10 minutes. So I
have to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to stop the attempt, and I restart. This can be repeated.
I even re-installed the software (registered version with activation code), but still the
same PC behavior.
Everything else is running fine. No virus, either (ran a couple ant-virus).
Win XP SP2, btw.
Any suggestions?

I would suggest that you wait longer. My guess is that it is deleting older backups and it is using the NoRemains Deletion process which takes longer than normal. You can turn off the NoRemains Deletion process in Cleaner Settings (which you have to start A1Click to do).
Or you could also turn NoRemains Deletion off by opening the A1Clean.ini file in Notepad or some other text editor and finding the UseNoRemainsDeletion under HardDrive (it is probably near the end). It should read UseNoRemainsDeletion=0 to turn NoRemains Deletion off.
