Computer Q&A Board / Questions / Help, no way to boot up
Posted by: Anashwaran, March 29th, 2009, 4:00pm
Hi everybody,
I'm again on this point where in pure despair one asks for help.
I got a bluescreen saying there was a problem with some hardware. I suspect it was my keyboard or mouse with USB-infrared connection. Then things became more and more problematic. I changed the KB and mouse, went into the bootup with delete/F8 but during choosing between menus or to go back to the default, the computer freezes everytime.
I have a XP recovery disk with the PE.Barth system but it doesn't work as the disk never boots up and I got stuck up before,
Now what to do? I even cannot install a new boot or something.
After having tried all kinds of things the boot-sector seems completely messed up.
Someone has a solution to this?
I use XP home edition, but have also installed on a different HD the new Windows 7. It run until now without problem, but to boot it I had to put the CD in the tray and then got a boot-menu. In order to boot with XP i had to take the CD out and boot normally.
It might also be that this Windows bootsector has detoriated the whole system, who knows?
So somehow I have to get this whole thing running again
Thanks for any help whatsoever

It seems that it is my DVD writer which is not OK. I will try that also by installing a new one. Let you know.

Anashwaran my man, please don't take this wrong but you seem to have more computer problems that any 10 people ought to have. It seems to me that you are trying to do too many things at once. But, you've come to the right place for help. If the people on this forum can't help, then you might as well turn off your computer and junk it. They are very good and have helped me out of several jams. I'll be waiting anxiously for the next episode. I admit that I too learned computers the hard way, with lots of crashes. If I think my advice will help, you've got it.
