Im finaly getting around to building my first computer and i have a stupid question :'(. I have an asus optical drive and a single 500 GB hard drive, both are SATA. My Mobo (XFX SLI 750i) has more than enough sata port for the rig, but is there any certain way i have to have them set up for it to run vista 64-bit? i.e. setting the HD up in a raid setting, or putting them in certain ports.

NOTE: sry if this is am incredibly stupid question, im just new. :-/

Check out the following forum, post your new build questions there to get superb support for your specific board. I have built several computers and it is an extremely helpful and competent forum for EVGA Mobos. THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS, just nasty, insecure posters who call questions dumb since they can hide behind their PC's, fortunately none on Ray's site.

You should be able to use any sata connection for each of your HD and CD units. There are several types of Raid setups but all need two or more drives.
