Computer Q&A Board / Questions / PhotoSmart vs MS Works

>:( Does anyone know of an inkjet printer family that will not cause MS Works Spreadsheats and Data Bases as do HP Printers featuring the Photosmart technology? My 10-year old Deskjet quit after trying to load more sheets of paper than it could digest. Finding no help at HP Support, the technician I talked to recommended a new Photosmart All in One. The drivers promptly caused crashes when trying to adjust formatting of cells in my spreadsheets and trying to open my data bases. Discussion groups at both HP and Microsoft seem to be aware of the problems, and MS even has a "solution" posted that does not address my particular problem. Having always liked HP products, I returned the All in One and purchased a Deskjet. This was, unfortunately, damaged in transit, and returned for a replacement. How wrong I was to asume the Deskjet would perform any differently than the photosmart. Since as much as 80 percent of my computing involves Works, I plan to return the Deskjet. Now I am looking for a compatible printer that allows all the applications within Works and can handle photograph printing. Anyone having a suggestion will have my undying gratitude. Eldred

I went shopping this morning and brought home a Lexmarkprinter. It is working just fine and not interfering with MS Works in any manner. Incidently, I changed one of my bigget spreadsheets to Excel and with a bit of manipulation it did decide to sork with Photosmart. I am a happy camper.
