Hi - First time on this board. Thought maybe someone would know if there were any reliable free anti-virus and firewall protection programs out that I can download. Its just for the meantime while Im waiting to get an annual subscription. I dont want to just Google it and end up downlading something I have not had a referrall to. Thanks for your help

I have used AVG Free (anti-virus) for several years and am happy to recommend it. It is very highly-rated by various PC magazines, and can be downloaded from:

Likewise, I recommend Zone Alarm firewall (also free), which can be downloaded from:

I don't think you will be disappointed!

The above link provides a host of free anti-virus software. I personally use free Avast Anti Virus Home Edition.
