Computer Q&A Board / Questions / Sun Java vs. Windows Java

I was reading up on malware on major geeks website and suggestion #8 was to uninstall Microsoft Java and then install Sun Java. Here is the link to the website I was on:
http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=44525 see #8
I must not have Microsoft Java installed because I did not see it in my "Unistall" software, but I also would not have been comfortable deleting Registry keys on my own. So my questions:
1) Would Regvac delete the Registry keys after the program was uninstalled (if I had the program to unistall)?
2) Do you recommend their suggestion of installing Sun Java? I went to the Sun Java website and it looked confusing and I wasn't sure what to download so I didn't.
This is not a high priority question, but something I'm curious about. Thanks!

RegVac will remove the Java entries that have URLs in them. You may be able to use the Software Cleaner to remove other entries.
No, I do not recommend their suggestion. I don't see the advantage of using Sun over Microsoft. Malware does not come from Microsoft Java, it comes from opening email attachments and going to questionable websites. You control those two things and you will control the malware.
