The computer goes into a deep trances that I can't get out of unless I shut down with the off button.  Is there a setting somewhere that I can change  so it doesn't do this?  It just started today.  I have XP pro sp3.  It has been working OK till now.  I have AVG virus control.  I don't think it is a virus?
