I have been using Regvac for some time and while looking at that web site saw the link for Speed Startup.  I looked it over and downloaded the trial for a look.

I'm not sure if this product will help me or not.  Let me explain the problem.

I have a WXP machine that has an aplication that has stopped functioning correctly.  I have found through testing that something in the startup is running and interfering with the operation of the failing program.

Will Speed Startup allow me to go through the list of programs/applications that are being automatically started one by one to determine which application is the culprit?  I thought Speed Startup would do this, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

Can someone explain the steps neccessary to manually go through the start up programs and find the problem using Speed Startup?

Thanks for your help.

Speed Startup can do that.  Just run the Scan.  When it is finished, look on the Details tab and it will show all of the startup items.  You can go through each item and it will tell what they are.
You can select and remove any item there.  You will be asked where you want to move it to.  Move it to Backup.  This will remove the item from startup.
To reinstate an item, go to the All Items list and restore the item.
