Hello Everybody,

Since a while Windows explorer fall in error:

..."explorer.exe a rencontré un problème et doit fermer"...   :o >:( >:(

"Explorer.exe met a problem and have to close... bla bla bla"

There are two buttons: "close the windows" and "debbuging" and also there is a link: "for more informations click here".

I have debbug and click here!!! But I am not expert enough and I don't understand anythings.

No more I don't know how to repair this issue.  :'( :'(

So as I click on the button "close" and after a while explorer come back and I am again able to work with the computer.

For information I have own a Dell with the OEM os.

Has somebody any ideas how to repair this stuff or where on MS (and how) I could see an explanation about this error. I have no references nor any error code.

It seems that error slowdown the computer.

In advance thank you very much for your help.  :)

The debugging thing is over my head too.  I think that it is really there for the people who wrote the program and no one else.
My guess is that the problem is not with Windows Explorer itself but with other programs or conditions that mess up Windows Explorer.
Hopefully, someone else will have an answer.

First, use a good virus checker and thoroughly scan your system. (HijackThis could be helpful). If you are sure that it is not a virus the error could be caused by a bad context menu handler. Down load the following program and checkout all the non-MS extensions and try disabling them one at a time.

Hi,
I wonder if you are asking about a script error while running Internet Explorer since you mention a Debug option.  If so, this may help.  I am using IE 6 (WinXP) and this is what I did to stop those errors from appearing.

Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options.  Click on the ADVANCED tab.  Put a checkmark in these two items:

Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)
Disable Script Debugging (Other)

Hope this helps.

Hello Knakeyes,

Thank you for your help.

I run my scanvir soft each week. But for the moment, I didn't it from a while!!!

That's a good advice you gave me. So, as I have a lot of free computer time I shall run it.

By the other hand, your advice about the shell and what Ray said to me ... (I don't find the english sentence!) appear to me familiar. (do you understand me?  :-/ )

So I shall follow all your advices.

One more, thank you very much.

Good night (from belgium)
