Here in Australia many people took advantage of the AOL Anti-virus programme. Now that it is no longer functioning how do you remove it from the computer when the programme does not have the AOL uninstall feature included? Going to Control Panel - remove programme does not work! Nor does trying to remove it from Program Files. I will never use any AOL programmes again!!

Here are instructions for removing any programs that do not have an uninstall link:

First, find where the program is located on the harddrive.  Using Search (click on Start and then select Search) may help you with this.  It would help if you know the name of one of the files it uses (if there is a link that you use to start the program try right clicking on it and finding what file or directory it is linked to then search for that).
When you find where the program is located, open Windows Explorer (right click on Start and select Explore from the popup list), find the directory, figure out if the whole directory is for that program only and that it is indeed for that program.  If it is, delete it (or if you want to be safe, rename the directory name to a different name, later you can come back and delete it if it does not cause any problems for you).
Next, run RegVac (http://superwin.com/regvac.htm), go to the Expert Zone to Tools and then to Software Cleanup.  Follow the directions there on all three tabs.
Find any links in Start, on the Desktop, and in msconfig (go to Start, Run, and type msconfig) and delete them.
That should take care of it.
