Computer Q&A Board / Other Computer Problems / Why are some boards locked?

I wanted to post a reply to the question at
http://www.regvac.com/forum/m-1171201673/ but there was NO reply option -- and it was marked Locked Board, even though I was logged on.
I don't understand this. Please explain what this means.

There are two general parts to this discussion board. One is the Your Input section (which this area is in) and the other is the Answers section. The Answers section is locked and cannot have replies posted to it.
All posts start in here in the Questions section (which is in the Your Input part and so they can be answered) and only after at least 6 months of no activity are they put in the Answers section.
If you want to provide answers to a question, please look in this section regularly for questions that you can answer. If you receive our newsletter, it lists the most recent questions in this section. Once a question has been answered and it has seen no activity for at least 6 months, it is locked and moved to the Answers section.
