RE: Abit AN8-SLI
Hello,
My BIOS suddenly changes boot order, power management settings, and even the time frequently. I removed the battery and it was up to full voltage, but I replaced it anyway - no change. The time cannot be changed in the BIOS either, it has to be done from systray. If set for optimum performance it cannot be saved end exited. It always defaults to fail safe operation. My voltages are all up to snuff and the machine runs very cool. I do not overclock. Could my BIOS chip be getting flakey?
Thanks for any help!

Two suggestions, check the Abit web site for BIOS updates.
If you find one that applies to the problem, use the password protect feature in the BIOS to prevent possible outside tampering, after you get the settings you want.

Thanks for getting back to me. This problem seemed to coincide with the extra week of eastern daylight time we had this year. Since Nov.4th it has settled back down. The computer adjusted automatically to the old DST standard but I had to set it back for one week. It didn't seem to like this. Lots of expired cetificate pop ups and a buggy BIOS also.
