Computer Q&A Board  /  Windows  /  Removing programs from Add and Remove

Hi All,
First post.
You guys have probably seen this problem a million times, so please bear with me.
I have 2 programs,( Adobe Reader 705 & 707), on my computer that I need to remove so that I can install the latest version. The main problem being that the Change / Remove tag at the bottom righthand corner is missing on both programs. I have trid to remove them manually, using the instructions supplied by Microsoft about going into Registry Entry, but that failed, I also emailed Adobe to see if they could supply any ideas, but they did not respond, so I am stuck with the programs, which consume a fairly hefty amount of MB's and don't know where to go next.
Can anyone shed any light on the subject, or any ideas how I can get over the problem.
I once read about a similar problem, and instructions on how to solve it on BootDisk, but extensive serching has revealed nothing.
Please help and get my life back to normal again.
Thanks in advance for any help you should offer.

I would think that the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall Adobe Reader.  To do so, open Windows Explorer, find the Adobe folder (probably in C:\Program Files) and go to the Adobe/Acrobat 7.0/Setup Files/RdrBig/ENU folder.  Double click on the setup.exe file.  That will take you through the reinstalling process for Adobe Reader.  Reinstalling should correct any problems you have with it.
A harder way to go would be to use RegVac's Add/Remove Editor or our freeware program, Add/Remove Pro, and find the Adobe Reader item in its three lists (the main list, All Entries, and Installer List).  My guess is that it is in the Installer List but not in the other lists.  Removing it from there may correct your problem.
