Computer Q&A Board  /  Other Programs  /  Why is Office 2007 slower?
Posted by: IBE57, April 29th, 2007, 3:27pm
I upgraded from Office 2003 to Office 2007.
I wonder, why Office 2007 needs more than 1 Minute to start and be ready to work on
a document (word, excel).
Does anybody know, how to speed it up?
Thanks

Welcome to the wonderful world of Microsoft.  Newer always means bigger and slower.

all depends on your pc. if its an older system its going to be slower. Office 2007 is kinda like vista, its bigger, prettier, and has lots more features. with that comes the need for a faster pc with more RAM, and so it goes. don't believe me? try taking some of the apps. you run on a regular on XP and install them on a windows 98 machine running 64 megs of RAM. I have an e6600 dual core machine running 2 gigs of RAM , and Office loads up so fast i can't even see the splash screen.
