Computer Q&A Board / RegVac / RegVac Update
Posted by: Carol, March 30th, 2007, 3:42pm
Hi... I saw that RegVac had another update so I clicked on it. In the process, I got an error message that said: "Error occurred, DeleteFile failed: Code 5 access is denied." I aborted. Now what? Thanks for the help.

If you are using the Check for Updates part of RegVac or if RegVac is open, you must close RegVac before you install the new version. If you close RegVac before installing, you will not get that error.
Otherwise...
It sounds like your computer would not allow a file to be replaced by the new version. You need to go to the RegVac directory, find out what file could not be deleted, and try to delete it. My guess is that it is the regvac.exe file. Something on your computer is keeping it from being deleted. You will have to disable whatever is keeping it from being deleted and then delete the file.
Or you could just install the new version to a different directory.
