Computer Q&A Board / Other Programs / uninstall adobe reader 7

Trying to uninstall a bad adobe reader 7.0 If I try to use it, I get error 1714 and then shuts down anything I have on the screen. Have been to the Adobe help site but, either what I try does not work or, I do not understand the instructions or I am just not following the instructions properly. Does anyone have a solution that this computer dummy can follow and install Reader 8? Thanks

you should be able to uninstall it by going to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. Reboot the computer when it has finished, and - what i always do with an uninstall - run Ray's AI Click Cleaner to get rid of any left-over entries, files etc.
Also, i think it is worth saving the Adobe Reader installation to disc first rather than installing it straight form the web.
With Adobe Reader, its also worth checking your start-up entries when it has installed as it likes to 'phone home about three times very second to see if there are any updates: fine if you want that but it all takes computer resources.
