Computer Q&A Board  /  RegVac  /  Something Messing RegVac Up
Posted by: rarrows, January 28th, 2007, 3:42pm
My computer can not run Regvac from windows . It works fine in Safe mode.
using 4.02.28. I've tried reinstalling and updating to no avail. I'm using Win XP Pro.

The error message is: Runtime error 216@ 00403BE6.

I've tried a through cleaning of registry and computer files. I've tried running via msconfig, eliminating each item one at a time. nothing seems to work. Regvac had been running fine previously. I realize the problem lies in my computer and is not the Regvac Program.

I do have a Dr. Watson log, if that would help.
I am running out of Ideas. Any suggestions?

Have you tried renaming the regvac.ini file in the RegVac directory and then running RegVac?  If not, try that.

Ray,
Problem solved, Thought you would want the followup.
I renamed the Ini file, but it did not work.
I traced the problem to a defective Java update. I loaded the update manually and when it completed, Reg Vac worked fine.
