Computer Q&A Board  /  Internet  /  New Windows Media Player doesn't rip CDs

Dear friends,
Since I have installed the new WMPlayer 11 I cannot rip CD's anymore like in version 10. I get an error message saying that there is a problem with the Windows Media Digital Rights Management called DRM system! As if life was not complicated enough. Now I went to the indicated site and they talk about contracts and professionnal rights etc... I just didn't want to go on with all that, and started using again my iTune program, where there are no problems. Could anyone explain what is going on here?
Thanks
Anashwaran

It seems noone has had experience with this. Hope I get some Suggestion in a near future. I found some folders DMR in Documents and settings under Windows. But don't know what to do with it

I have not experienced this problem personnally, but I have read a number of articles about WMP11 and the DRM issue.

I am not a real fan of the Inquirer but they do have a few words about loss of rights with WMP11.
Shred your rights

This next link may give you a little insight on what may work to rip your CD's
Rip with "Copy protected " turned off
