Computer Q&A Board / WinRescue / WinRescue for VISTA (RC1 etc.)
Posted by: JanJ, October 17th, 2006, 2:16pm
I am trying out the RC1 version of VISTA and I am wondering if there is (or is coming) a Vista version of WinRescue. In the meantime: can I use my WXP version of the software ? Greetings JanJ.

I just got the RC1 version of Vista in the mail, but I have been too busy to install it and test my programs in it. WinRescue XP should work in Vista.
I suspect that it will be a couple of weeks before I can mess with Vista.

Thank you Ray. I look forward to it. I don't know if I dare to try WinRescueXP out in VISTA. I already had some trouble with the security rights etc. in other programs. I think I wait for your testing of the program. Greetings JanJ.

Hello Ray,
Is there already some testing-results with the VISTA RC1 product ? See my question above. Greetings JanJ.

I am currently working on WinRescue Vista. From my preliminary testing WinRescue XP for the most part does work with Vista. The thing that I have to change is the Troubleshooters and since Vista has a whole new Help system, I have been trying to figure out how WinRescue can access that. When I figure that out (or just scrap the Troubleshooters), it should not take me long to finish and release WinRescue Vista.
