Hi
How do i delete my computer history ? apart from. Doing it by hand, deleting one at a time  which my sister said i should do, It is very time consuming, or buying one of these history cleaners which they say ' will stop hackers getting at you web surfing, and knowing your details, ( Just a learner  :) at the computing )

There are many history lists on your computer.  The easiest thing to do is buy a program, like our A1Click Ultra PC Cleaner (http://superwin.com/a1clean.htm) that will clean those lists.
The other alternative is to do some research, find out where all of those lists are, and delete them.  The lists are kept both in the registry and on your hard drive.
Unless you have something to hide, there really is no need to delete the history lists.

Thank you Mr Ray.
I have purchased your A1 ULTRA CLEANER already and use it regularly, ( It's 'Majic' )
The history I was referring to, appears down the side of your page, when you click the wee green clock, next to the yellow favourites, and that is what i have been deleting one by one, which takes ages to do depending what you have been looking at, or searching for
Because i was told Hackers can get information about you, via this list !

No Sir, nothing to hide, I am just an elderly lady brushing up on my computing, and just need a bit of help, or reassurance.

You can control this list by accessing Internet Options.
This is under tools on your Internet Explorer tool bar.
You can set the number of days that will be saved on the history list before it will be deleted by Windows. Simply choose 0 or 1 to keep this list under control.
Zero as choice will clear this list when you close Internet Explorer. There is a button also that clears all the currently saved history.

Oh! THANK YOU so much  dlwolffo :) for taking the time to answer my queery,
I am just a learner at this computing, but i am slowly getting there.
So many  ' Clicks, wiggits, and digits, to learn about. '

This is a handy site to ask for Help.
It will maybe save me shouting HELP to my Grandson, and him saying:- oh! no 'not again' lol

A1Click does clean that out but you have to either run Remove Tracks (which I don't neccessarily recommend) or check it (Internet History) in Cleaner Settings and then run Run Settings.
About the only thing that Hackers would get from the History list is where you have been.  I don't think that they could get the information that you entered in any of the pages.
If you have a firewall installed on your computer, hackers should not be able to get to the History list anyway.
You can select a day in History and delete it which would delete everything in that day.  You can also delete whole folders this way in History.  You don't have to select each website and delete them individually.

THANK YOU, Mr Ray.
( I have a firewall, your comment on it has also reassured me.  )  Everything seems to be fine now.

This is a great place for computing advice! ;)
