Computer Q&A Board  /  Speed Startup  /  USB remove icon missing after using SpeedStart

After using SpeedStart, I think I over-pruned my startup. Only one icon is missing from my taskbar: the icon for stopping a USB device.
My Speedstart lineup includes Gene USB Monitor, but the icon for removing the USB devices does not appear.
Is there another program I need for the SpeedStart lineup?

That will happen if you remove the SysTray item.  If you want to run SysTray, it should be run in Windows and not in Speed Startup's Lineup.

How do I run SysTray in Windows when using Speed Startup?

You just do not have Speed Startup remove it.  If it was removed by Speed Startup, you should restore it.

I have the same problem, but when I try to restore SysTray to startup nothing happens. A warning window appears: "SysTray is not an executable file and so it cannot be moved to Lineup or Manual Run. It must remain in Do Not Run or be restored to Startup to be run."
What is the problem and how can I restore SysTray again?

That warning is coming from Speed Startup when you try to move that item to Lineup or to Manual Run.  You need to restore it to Windows startup not to Lineup or Manual Run.

Moving the systray.exe to the Windows startup program worked for me. I got an unusual message from Bitdefender when I did it, that this was a suspected malware action. It works fine.
Thanks Ray.
