I don't have McAvee, I use ZoneAlarmPro,...I also have had RegVac. stop responding. I found this to happen. (1).whenever I try to close it down before it has completed it's scan, (2). If ZoneAlarm starts its automatic scan at the same time, (3), If I try to do more than my pc can handle because of it's lack of memory 256mb and processer 735mhz. [face=Arial][/face]

Actually, if RegVac is busy working, Windows will always report it as not responding. If you just wait, it will complete what it is doing and everything will be fine.
What you say about ZoneAlarm and about doing too much is probably true too.

Okay. There is a box that can be checked if I want regvac to start automatically when I turn my pc on... what I need is a way to set up a scan when I am not using the pc, yet before I turn it off. The task scheduler I have is having issue about who the admistrator is so I don't use it. NOTE; this is my work pc and it has had other operators, ergo, the issue with administrators. Thanks, Bexarjg

You can run RegVac with any scheduler. RegVac's Help tells how to do this in the Automated Scans section (the last paragraph). Here is what it says:
Automated Scans may be run by a scheduler by passing the parameter, "schedule". So the command to run RegVac would look like this: "c:\regvac\regvac.exe schedule" (without the quotes).
