At times when I open a web page the pictures are blank with a red x in the upper left hand corner.
Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.........

   That happens when your browser cannot find the picture.  This will happen if the webpage was improperly written and the pictures are not where the code says they are.
   It can also happen if you are offline.

Thanks for the reply. This blank picture problem happens sometimes in
Aol and other web sites I would consider not to have this problem.

   Is there a setting where you can be working offline in AOL (it has been a long time since I had AOL)?  If so, make sure that you are online.
   Another possibility is a bad internet connection.
