Computer Q&A Board / WinRescue / Startup problems with WinRescueXP
Posted by: pipdev, February 24th, 2006, 2:04am
I have recently installed WinrescueXp on my fiancee's computer - under her log-in, and set it to run at start-up. Now, the programme only appears in her All Programs list (not in mine) but it only runs automatically when I log in. We both have administrator accounts (OK - I know.....)
Help, please :)

I do not know why it is only in her All Programs list.
When you run WinRescue and it is set up to run automatically, it looks in the Startup folder for its icon. If the icon does not point to itself, it corrects it so that it does.
If WinRescue is not set up to run automatically, WinRescue will delete any WinRescue icon that it finds in the Startup folder.
If you both are using the same Startup folder, only one of you will be able to use WinRescue.

Thank you Ray
BUT
I do not understand your answer in terms of what I have to do to solve the problem.
Sorry :-/

And I do not understand the setup of the two computers. If I were there and looking at your two computers and seeing how it is all set up, I could give you a definite answer, but I am not there. That is why I simply explained what WinRescue does. I was hoping that you would be able to figure it out from what I told you.

of course you don't, Ray, and I should not expect you to !
It is not TWO computers - just one, running Windows XP, with two user log-ins - hence the problem. :)

Then WinRescue XP should only be run from one of the users.
