Computer Q&A Board  /  Windows  /  How do I get earlier updates for WinXP?

I'm using XP Home, Windows update set on "Automatic".
Automatic updating ran flawlessly untill installing Panda Titanium 2005 around late October 2006.
I wasnt aware that Panda blocked the Windows updating process untill quite recently when I discovered a "hotfix" and became aware of the problem. The hotfix solved the problem.
But not everything though: I was able to download the latest 6 updates by from the Microsoft Windows updating site, but I am stuck with quite a list of missed updates.
Now the question: How do I download and install the previous updates without disturbing the functioning of the Windows XP operating system?
Can't find any clues on the Microsoft site.

All you need to do is simply go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and run a check, it will only resolve the suggested updates that you need.

Also, Automatic Update has been known to miss an occasional update as well as delaying the time from when the update was released to when Automatic Update states it's available.. So I prefer manually downloading the updates from the above link.

If you missed any critical or important updates during the time Panda was blocking Automatic Updates - They will be on the list of suggested updates.

Thanks Elegant Kiss. That's what I did and the return appeared to be only 6 updates. That's then since around last October. Can I can rely on this return of only 6 updates? Well thanks anyhow, the system is running w/o a glitch so it should be allright.

Eldert

Eldert,

The windows engine actually does check your system and previously applied updates when it does this, so i would rely on it.

If all is well, then you should be fine.

*crosses fingers* ;)
