With MS XP Outlook Express it was possible to at least prevents spam by putting certain headings etc in a file that filtered incoming email. Since I have started using MS W7 with Windows Mail it does not seem possible to do this and I am inundated with Spam which was partly my own fault for giving my email address to Publishers Clearing House (stupid I know, no excuse). But the second I gave my email address to PCH the email spam started and has continued. I get hundreds per day and it is very annoying. I may be missing something but does anyone know how to stop this huge spam attack?

There isn't a great deal you can do. But.......
Give up on Windows Mail and access your email straight from the provider's website (webmail) Most providers, not Hotmail or Windows Live Mail, give an option to mark an email as spam and then filter it for you from there on.
Thank you very much for the info, very kind of you. Must say typical Microsoft to leave off an important feature but as they have the monopoly what can you do except be more careful with unscrupulous companies like PCH that sell you email address. Unconscionable to my mind. Rgds
Do like me & change your email address, then don't give it out again..I have had to change mine about 3 times already...but I still use Outlook Express in Windows XP Pro....can't stand hotmail or yahoo...so don't wanna go to Windows 7 till I have to...no mail program with it...& I love Outlook Express.........
