Been working with a Intel Desktop Board D850GB along with the appropriate 12v power supply and currently I can't get the motherboard to start even when trying to jump the pins. The green LED turns on but I can't get anything to start.  I've tried re-seating the CPU, stripping unnecessary cards out, and working with different front panel pin setups (including intel's suggested) no good. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't have the answer to your problem but you should NEVER short pins unless you are ready to buy a new motherboard and maybe a power supply too.

If the board won't power up at all, i.e. no fans start, then you probably have a bad motherboard.
If the board is powering up, but not booting, turn all the power off, then reset the cmos chip. Just encountered that problem with a computer I was upgrading yesterday. After I reset the cmos chip, the board booted immediately, when I powered it up again.
