[face=Arial][/face] When I use the RegPack facility included in WinRescue XP, I prepare by DISABLING Symantec anti-virus and endpoint protection.  The RegPack process starts -- and then stops with the message that "RegPack has detected the presence of . . . Symantec . . ." I am then directed to "see Help for instructions on how to disable . . ." etc.  I disabled before I started.  "Help" is no help. What's wrong?

My guess is that the problem is that you did not follow the instructions.  You must disable Symantec in the way that the instructions give.  You cannot just select disable in the Symantec programs because they do not fully disable themselves.  You must remove the Symantec programs from startup and restart your computer which is what the instructions tell you to do.
If you have removed the Symantec items from startup and you are still getting the message, you have not removed all of the Symantec items.
