While attempting to copy a file to a new folder, I mistakenly highlighted the text of the file clicked copy, then tried to paste it into the new folder. Dumb, I know, but what showed up in the new folder was something called, simply, scrap without an extension. I cannot open, rename, delete, or perform any operation on it. The error box says it is in use by another application and to close all programs associated with it. I have restarted, shut down and waited several minutes, then rebooted and opened the folder and tried to remove it, all to no avail. Search cannot find it. I even tried disk cleanup and defrag but it persists. I can stand the disk usage (only 126 KB), but not the clutter in the folder. This occurred in Word 2003 running under Win XP SP2/SP3. Any suggestions? |
