Tried to "downgrade" OS using old XP Home disc on system with striped raid.
Get message that there are no discs installed.

Heard that I must use XP Pro to install on raid drives.

Wanted to know if that is true before I spend $290 for XP Pro.

BTW, how is it done?

Thanks...........

Raid will work with XP Home. The raid controller boots before the OS is loaded. Is your raid through a raid controller card or is built-in to your motherboard? Either way should work with XP home. If the raid is built-in to the motherboard you need to go into the bios and make appropriate adjustments. If that raid is via the controller card, follow instructions that come with the install CD from the card maker.
