sometimes when i'm trying to move the mouse over to click on something it sticks or freezes,and the only way i can get it to move again is to hit one of the arrow buttons on keyboard? this seems to solve the problem for a short time but then it does it again...any ideas on what i can try?  thanx, oh i have a wired mouse. and xp. thanx

in most cases I would guess that your mouse is dirty. However since hitting an arrow on the keyboard seems to free it up, it is possible that you have an IRQ conflict. This is more likely if your mouse is a serial mouse (connects to a serial port on your computer). If you have a USB mouse then check your USB and mouse drivers. Reinstalling your mouse drivers might help.

   I would also suggest trying a different mouse and see if that corrects the problem.
