After detecting the service "regvac registry service" in services again and again I tried to remove it. So I checked the registry for keys. I succeeded in removing the entry in services but I did not succeed in removing all entries in the registry. There are some obstinate keys like LEGACY_REGVACSERVICE which are forbidden to be deleted.Thinking they are superfluous and don't cause anything I don't understand this. rawana75 |

Me neither. Windows puts those entries in there when the service is installed and Windows is what is not allowing them to be removed. I would think that if you uninstalled RegVac Registry Service, those entries would be removed. If you run the AutoComplete Editor (click on the Edit AutoComplete button on the AutoComplete Editor page in the Expert Zone) RegVac should uninstall it. |

Running AutoComplete Editor I got the message: "Waiting 5 sec for a completion signal from RegVServ, but never received it. Your List of AutoComplete field may not be complete". After clicking ok I got: "A Web Form has been created and opened to allow you to edit AutoComplete. Please see your Browser". But: There were no textboxes, only the headline and the message: "Windows did not allow access to this information or it could not be found". So I failed completely. rawana75 |

OK. I tried. Running the AutoComplete Editor installs RegVServ if it is not installed and then uninstalls it. I don't know why it did not work. |

I think this situation is because I deleted some of the registry entries manually. I still have the possibility of restoring the registry having made a registry backup before. But not knowing if the results would be better than now I am still hesitating. rawana75 |

Could be. The only other thing I would say is to make sure you did not delete any files from the RegVac directory. If you did, reinstalling RegVac will put them back in. |

No, I am sure I did not do that. But, to be on the safe side, I will reinstall RegVac. rawana75 |

Hi, I didn't say for the following reasons: 1. the said possibility is very dangerous and you must absolutely know what you are doing or save the registry beforehand. 2. I am German and I have a lot of difficulties describing this procedure in English. But I will try using a dictionnary. Here we go: In the registry editor right click on the key to be deleted. Then left click on "allowance". After that choose an user name (f.e. administrator)- Then left click on "full access". After clicking ok you can delete the chosen key. I hope the terms from the dictionnary are understandable. rawana75 |
