I have windows XP.  When I went to run a program to change rm files into mp3 files, I got the message                    The file can NOT be read correctly                   You need (to) update your DirectX to version 8.1 or higher

Where can I get DirectX version 9 (hopefully for free) and how do I then install it. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
