I downloaded AV 2009 on 11/8/08 and then uninstalled it on 11/10/08, but Google mail is still showing it on my computer.  I also went into remove programs and it is not shown there.  Did search and removed all files that it found. Any idea how to get rid of it? Thanks

The computer column in our local paper recently reported that a reader was unable to remove a virus called "Antivirus XP 2008" using normal available tools.  The paper responded "Online gurus on the CNET.com forums and at BleepingComputer.com report success eliminating it with Malwarebytes' AntiMalware, a free and highly rated spyware remover available from http://www.download.com."  I've tried it and am impressed.  It might help you also.
