Using Winrescue on XP to backup data & registry to a 4 GB USB stick (Sandisk Cruzer). Free space on stick is 3.8 GB. Backup completes to the message "Backup finished 2043 files backed up" then reports "Not enough room to write archive". When backup target is changed to a folder on the hard disc, works no problem of course, and complete archive size is 2.6 GB which I can subsequently manually transfer to the USB stick no problem and with plenty space to spare. This problem has been ongoing for weeks. I know I have a workaround but would prefer to backup straight to the stick if possible. Any ideas?

   I would suggest that you check the Temp directory in Backup Properties (it is on the Advanced tab) of WinRescue and make sure the Temp directory is on a drive that has enough free space.
