Attachments Missing |

Friends send attachments that I used to get. Now they are no longer attached. I know they come thru because I can see them on webmail. However, I only go to webmail occassionally, so miss many of them. When email with an attachment comes into my mailbox, and I click on the attachment, there is nothing there. A right click gets only the bottom portion of the little sign that says "save attachments". When I try to do that, there is nothing there to save.
I assume my setting somewhere somehow changed, but in my current state of brain fog I can't remember what or how to change things so it's back to normal. Could someone please refresh my memory on this very simple thing? Thanks guys. |

If it shows the name of the attachments but the name is grayed out, you need to uncheck the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" checkbox. If that checkbox is checked, all attachments (not just those that are suspect) are disabled. To get to this checkbox go to the Tools menu of Outlook Express and select Options... Then go to the Security tab of the Options window. |

Went there to check again, and that box is not checked. It never has been that I know of. Somewhere between the web mail and my mail box, the attachment disappears. At least by not getting attachments, I won't unknowingly get a virus etc. I can live with that. Thanks |

I have AVG 8.0, and will tell you honestly, I don't know how to change all the settings etc. It runs just like it was downloaded. I do have an 8 page manual that explains all the functionings of 8, but I haven't had time to read it yet. Reckon I will have to find the time one of these days.
Thanks for your help. |
