To rhe best of my knowledge, none of the "major drive manufacturers" supply any sort of software except for what is known as "low-level" (hardware) formatting. This does NOT guarantee that all data has been wiped out.
Your only true guarantee that you have a truly clean disk drive is to replace the drive itself, and re-build from OS on up.
Yes, there ARE programs and utilities that claim to "wipe and reformat" both allocated and unallocated free space - but your trust level is whatever you wish to believe,
"CLEAN" disk? Buy a brand new one - they are so cheap anymore it really doesn't cost much, be they "IDE" ot "SATA".
