I currently have a pc set up for dual boot win98/xp and have 3 separate drives; win98 is on 1 of 2 partitions in the c drive; xp is on a second drive; win98 is fat32, xp ntfs; i want to put xp on a second partition on c and get it off the d drive; win 98 does not see d of course;

how do i reformat d w so that it is fat 32?  thru DOS? and w what command?

and when i install xp on the new partition in c, can i make it a fat 32 sys rather than an ntfs?

all my data files have been backed up, so i think i am ready to go!

thx

   If you have two partitions on C, one of them has a different drive letter than C.
   To format in FAT32 get a version of DOS that supports FAT32 and format the drive using the format file.  If you don't know how to do that type, "format /?" at a command prompt.
   Yes, you can install XP on a FAT32 partition.  Just format the partition in FAT32 and then install XP on it.

   Yes, you can format from Win98 as long as the drive that you are formatting is not the one that has the Win98 directory on it.
