Hi- I have recently installed Regvac and am unable to use "Regpack'.
During the attempt, it appears to call Scanreg and "Windows Registry Checker",
produces the report "Cannot repair the registry from Windows.Shutdown to
     DOS and run Scanreg.exe/fix.".
Scanreg/fix runs, from dos, and reports "fixed",but to situation is unchanged.
The situation is consistant after "uninstall-reinstall" and Restart.
     OS is W98se
I've run out of ideas and hope somebody can help

     best wishes  michael g

In Win98 and WinME RegVac uses scanreg to help with the RegPack.  For some reason scanreg is not allowing the registry to be fixed while Windows is running (maybe there is a program running in the background that is interferring with it).  It is being successful in DOS.
The problem is not with RegVac.  It is with how things are running in Windows.
