I have a Dell computer that has two 160GB hard drives configured in a Raid 0 configuration.  They are both SATA drives.

I want to replace them with two 500GB drives.

Replacing RAID drives is not as easy as replacing a single hard drive because the second RAID drive is in effect "invisible"

Can some one please give me a step by step lesson on how to do this.

I am sure it will involve installing the two NEW drives on two of the computers OTHER SATA connectors.

If I use ACRONIS backup, I will need to have the bios installed on the new drives at the SECOND RAID connection. ACRONIS says it will, but my experiments show it does not.

Thanks for your help

Here's what I did.

1) Make a backup using Acronis on a second drive or DVD.  Also make the Acronis install CD.
2) Remove the raid drives and install the new drives and partition them.
3) Using the Acronis install CD boot the PC and restore the backup onto the new drives in the new partition making sure to choose the appropriate size correction.

I did this sometime back and it worked fine. If I remember correctly, I initially partitioned my larger raid set up to match my original active drive size and once the installation was complete and the system was running fine, I resized my active partition.

Best of luck.
