Good evening, Ray,

I am trying out the trial version of your new XP Recovery CD.

1. If I buy it, will it ask me for the key every time I boot from it, or is there a way to store the key while making the CD?
2. BART PE changes my drive names, as you thought it would.  Once again, is there a way to save time and nerves while doing an emergency recovery by telling XPRecovery/BART in advance - while making the CD - where it will find the Winrescue files on my system?

3. The Recovery CD tells me that I have no Restore Points, but I do.  How do I make it find them?

Thanks.
C.

1.  When you purchase XP Recovery CD Maker, you can get the registered version and make a CD with it.  That CD will not ask for the key.  Or you can use the trial CD that you already made and enter the key in it.  The trial version CD will always ask for the key, the registered version CD will never ask for the key.

2.  No.

3.  You have to specify where the Restore Point folder is.  Click on the XP Restore Points Directory button and all of the possible Restore Point folders will be listed in a dropdown box.  Select the one that has your Restore Points in it.

OK, that's the way I want to do it, so I won't have to enter the key.  When I buy and download the registered version, do I first uninstall the trial version, or just install the registered version over it?

Also:
At the moment, my Winrescue backup folders are inside of the Winrescue program folder, which is D:\Program Files\[etc.].  BART PE never changes my C: (system) drive.  If I put the Winrescue backup folders in my C:\Windows (system) directory, will it be easier for XP Recovery disk to find them?  If so, what is the default path where XP Recovery Disk will look for them?

Thanks again.
C.

There is no need to uninstall the trial version.  The registered version is installed over the trial version and replaces it.
I would suggest that you leave the WinRescue files where they are.  XP Recovery CD looks for a file that WinRescue puts in C:\ called rsqxpdir.ini.  This file tells XP Recovery CD where WinRescue and its backups are.  It will also find this file, if it is on a different drive.
