why does the green arrow on the upper left of my screen, to go back to the last web page go grey, not allowing me to go back to the last page

   My guess would be that another window or tab was opened when you went to that webpage and so it cannot go back.  Try looking on other tabs or other browser windwos to see if one of them has the previous page.
