I need some help! I have a Dell inspiron 1501 and i can't get my sound recording device to pick up any audio on my computer anymore.  Well, I can't get anything to pick up audio!  I use to just plug my mic into my computer and some icon would come up as to where i wanted to open it or set it up, and i always clicked the same one so i finally clicked 'always use this' or 'don't ask me again'-it was something like that.  Now it doesn't come up anymore, but when i go to record on that silly little recording thing it doens't pick up any audio.  I have to mics, one is a head set, and the other is a clip on for the shirt and I need to know how to fix it!!!  Please contact me asap if you know how to fix this problem! I've searched around my computer but can't find anything to change it!!  Help please!!

Try looking at start\control panel\sound\recording.
You should be able to configure your microphone and head set there.

Looks like you will have to setup the use of the microphone again.
