how do i find out my pop3 server and my smtp server

   Your email provider has that information.
   You can either call them up on the phone and ask them or go to their website.  On their website that information should be in the Support section.

The reason I have to find out the pop 3 and smtp is that I have yahoo mail and first I choose the picture and then  file-send to-and then it goes to a wizard that will send it to someone..the wizard demands th pop3 server and my smtp Thanks again for your help,  Ray While i'm asking q questions I have one more.
My technical helper suggested that I use yahoo mail rather than outlook expressl because with yahool I would never lose my mail with a virus, while with OE it would be lost. dose that sound right to you?

   In Outlook Express go to the Tools menu.  When the menu expands go down to Accounts and click on it.  That opens the Internet Accounts window.  On the Mail tab select the account you want to know about and click on the Properties button.  This opens the Properties window.  The POP3 and SMTP settings are on the Server tab.  POP3 is the Incoming Mail Server and SMTP is the Outgoing Mail Server.
   If you are using Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Mail has its own POP3 and SMTP servers that it uses.  I don't know why it would be asking you for that.  I would think that the Yahoo Mail website tells the POP3 and SMTP servers somewhere.
   Your internet provider probably provides you with an email account which also has its own POP3 and SMTP settings.

   What your technical helper says is true.  If you get a lot of viruses (viruses usually come from opening attachments which you shouldn't) and you lose emails from that, then you can go the Yahoo Mail route.  The only problem is that the emails are not kept on your computer and if the Yahoo server gets a virus or goes down, you will lose your emails.  Another problem with Yahoo Mail is that checking your emails is not as easy as with Outlook Express.
   You can set up Outlook Express to check your Yahoo Mail (you have to find out the Yahoo Mail POP3 and SMTP settings and enter them in Outlook Express).  This makes Yahoo Mail more convenient but it removes the above mentioned protection from viruses on your computer.
